Luka Milivojevic struck a late penalty to hand Crystal Palace a crucial 1-0 victory over Newcastle United which should guarantee secure their Premier League status.
Wilfried Zaha was brought down by DeAndre Yedlin late on in the box and the Serb scored his 11th goal of the season to clinch a smash-and-grab victory for Roy Hodgson's side.
Newcastle had won five games in a row at home and it was no surprise to see them come out of the blocks early on, with Fabian Schar missing two early chances.
Salomon Rondon had the ball in the net early on for Newcastle after slotting home the rebound when Vicente Guaita spilled an effort from Matt Ritchie, but the flag was correctly raised against the Venezuelan.
The towering striker was proving to be a handful for the Palace backline and he should have broken the deadlock on the half-hour mark after getting on the end of a DeAndre Yedlin cross but missed the target with a close-range header.
The visitors thought they had taken the lead when James Tomkins swept home from Luka Milivojevic's corner, but the flag went up after James McArthur was offside and interfering with play.
The second half was more scrappy as the midfield cancelled each other out and a serious injury to Florian Lejeune disrupted the play.
DeAndre Yedlin went close with a powerful drive as Newcastle pushed for a winner, but with 10 minutes left the American was guilty of making a mistake at the other end.
Wilfried Zaha cut inside Yedlin and the American clipped the winger with a clumsy challenge, leaving the referee with no option but to award a penalty. Milivojevic stepped up and sent Martin Dubravka the wrong way to seal a dramatic late win for Palace, who climb to 12th.
