Newborn puppy 'snatched' from Scots home while owner shopped at Asda

A newborn puppy was 'stolen' from its owner's bedroom while she was out shopping at Asda.

Hayley Jempson claims her nine-week-old pup, Cooper, was snatched from his cage at her home in Edinburgh.

The Olde English Bulldog Cooper was reportedly taken from their home in Craigmillar Castle Road at around 11pm on Sunday.

Hayley left Cooper at home with her other dog, Charlii, while she popped out to her local Asda supermarket for some shopping.

When she returned, Cooper was taken from his cage that sat in her bedroom, reports Edinburgh Live.

Hayley claims that nothing else was stolen from the property where she found a 'quivering' and 'pining' Charlii on her return.

The distraught dog owner said the alleged raid left her 'shaken and trembling' as she's now desperate for her pooch to be brought back home.

Hayley said that Cooper is still on a ‘special diet’ and hasn't had second set of jags yet because he’s so young.

She said: “They took nothing else of value or clothing, just the dog.

“They also left my Charlii quivering.

"I can’t believe this has happened, there are evil, sick, twisted folk around.

“Please help bring him home."

She added: "They know nothing about him.

"He’s nine-weeks-old, never been on grass, still has a special food routine, he needs different milk.

"He’s got special dietary requirements as he’s still so young.

"He’s not had second jags yet, he’s due them this week.

“Charlii was with Cooper, he was in his cage sleeping.

"They’ve taken him from my bedroom in his cage sleeping.

“I left them to go to Asda, came home and he was gone.”

Anyone who spots Cooper is being urged to call police on 101.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report that a dog has been stolen and enquiries are ongoing."
