Newborn lambs at farm in Chiba Pref. delight visitors

FUTTSU, Chiba -- Here comes the baa-by boom! Mother Farm in Futtsu, Chiba Prefecture, has welcomed the recent births of 11 baby lambs, which are delighting visitors.

At the farm, which has about 600 sheep and other animals, a female lamb weighing 4.5 kilograms started the parade of new arrivals on Feb. 14. On Saturday, an event was held to weigh the newborns, and visitors could take pictures of their adorable faces and forelegs sticking out of a bucket on a scale.

A total of 40 lambs are expected to be born at the farm by the end of March.
