Newborn baby tragically dies after emergency crews scrambled to Scots home

A newborn baby boy has tragically died in hospital after ambulance crews were called out to a Scots home at the start of the week.

Emergency services raced to a property in Beechwood Road in Blackburn, West Lothian, on Monday and the baby was taken to hospital by ambulance.

He sadly could not be saved and was pronounced dead. Police are currently investigating the incident, with the boy's death being treated as unexplained.

Enquiries remain ongoing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are investigating following the death of a newborn baby boy in Blackburn.

“Ambulance service were called to an address in Beechwood Road on Monday, August 15, 2022. The baby was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
