Newborn baby sadly dies after being found unresponsive at home

A newborn baby has sadly died after being found unresponsive at a home.

Police were called to a property at approximately 2:05am on September 21 by emergency services.

Officers received reports that a ten-day-old boy had been discovered unresponsive by North West Ambulance Service in Preston, reports Lancs Live.

The baby was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment but tragically died a short time later.

Police are currently treating the death as 'unexplained' and are continuing to conduct enquiries.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We were called by the ambulance service at around 2.05am today (Tuesday, September 21st) to reports a ten-day-old boy had been found unresponsive at an address on Lockside Road, Preston.

"He was taken to hospital but sadly died a short time later.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and our enquiries are ongoing."
