Newborn baby dies 10 days after receiving serious injuries at St Neots' home

A newborn baby has died 10 days after receiving serious injuries at a home.

The 12-week-old tot succumbed to the wounds in hospital today.

A man and a woman have been arrested over the death.

The baby was rushed to Addenbrooke's Hospital last week after suffering the injuries in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police said: "His death is being treated as suspicious and an investigation has been launched.

"A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and have since been released on police bail until 28 November."

The victim or those arrested have not yet been named by police.

The investigation continues.
