The vaccination centre at Newark Showground will be closing down later this week after delivering over 100,000 covid vaccine doses since opening its doors.
The centre will be closing on Friday September 10 at 1:30pm.
The vaccination programme will be moving into a new phase which will see local pharmacies and GP surgeries taking more of a role.
Over 80 per cent of all adults across the Newark district have now received both doses of the vaccine.
The site was one of the first to open up this year and has offered a way to help protect residents without having to travel to Nottingham or Mansfield for their jabs.
The pop up clinics and vaccination bus working alongside the main site at the Showground have helped achieve good rates of take up.
Councillor David Lloyd, Leader of Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “Getting your vaccine is down to personal choice, so it is particularly heartening to see so many of our residents protecting themselves, their friends and families by getting the vaccine.
“I firmly believe that the vaccination programme is central to getting back to normal day to day business. As we learn to live with Covid going forward such a strong take up is a firm foundation for us to build on.”
