Newark mum shocked at the state of £4 bacon roll from Starbucks

A Nottinghamshire mum said she was 'shocked' after she opened up a £4 bacon roll to discover just a few slices of meat.

Amy Hope Preston, 22, a medicine counter assistant, from Newark, ordered the sandwich and a toffee nut latte from a Starbucks Drive-thru in Newark on Friday, December 10, and was very confused when she opened up her roll.

She said: "I was so shocked. "I expected so much more for £4.

"There was literally one slice of bacon in it which was majority fat and no butter."

Ms Preston had quickly popped into the drive-thru after dropping her daughter at nursery.

She added: "I got home and opened it up so I could put my sauce on. "That's when I realised.

"I've ordered plenty at Starbucks but usually only a coffee. I definitely won't be ordering any food from them again."

The mum put up a picture of her sarnie on a Facebook group which garnered nearly 400 likes and almost 200 comments.

She added: "I put it on social media because I just couldn't believe it."

Starbucks was approached for comment
