A man has admitted possessing a pistol with intent to cause fear of violence to a woman.

Grzogrz Jakoubik, 40, of St Marys Gardens, Newark, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court.

He also admitted damaging cosmetic products and a car tyre and sending a message containing a threat.

No more details were given about the offences at a short plea and trial preparation hearing.

Digby Johnson, representing the defendant, asked for a psychiatric report to be prepared. Sentencing was adjourned until Friday, January 17.

Jakoubik will remain in custody.
