  • Her removal occurred after she delivered a passionate speech on Gaza during a debate concerning New Zealand's recognition of a Palestinian state.
  • Ms Swarbrick criticised her country as an "outlier" and a "laggard", advocating for a bill to "sanction Israel for its war crimes".
  • She was ordered to leave parliament after refusing to apologise for her remarks, which Speaker Gerry Brownlee deemed "unacceptable".
