Manufacturing activity in New Zealand showed some signs of recovery in May, as the country lifted restrictions put in place to limit the spread of the coronavirus, a survey showed on Friday.
The Bank of New Zealand-Business NZ's seasonally adjusted Performance of Manufacturing Index (PMI) rose to 39.7 from 25.9 in the previous month.
A reading above 50 indicates an expansion in activity, while anything below that threshold indicates a contraction.
