New Zealand manufacturing activity picks up in April - BNZ survey

WELLINGTON (Reuters) - Manufacturing activity expansion in New Zealand picked up the pace in April after falling for much of the past year, a survey showed on Friday.

The Bank of New Zealand-Business New Zealand's seasonally adjusted Performance of Manufacturing Index (PMI) rose to 53.0 from 51.9 the previous month.

A reading above 50 indicates an expansion in activity, while anything below that threshold indicates a contraction.
