New Zealand commodity prices fall 0.8 percent in July - ANZ bank

WELLINGTON (Reuters) - Prices for New Zealand's main commodities fell in July, ANZ Bank's commodity index showed on Thursday.

The price index fell 0.8 percent for the month, compared with a 2.1 percent rise the month before, for its first drop since April.

On an annual basis the index was 21.1 percent higher, compared to gains of 24.6 percent the previous month.

Meat prices fell 3.4 percent as lamb production in the Northern Hemisphere picked up while horticulture prices fell 5.6 percent.

New Zealand's largest goods export, dairy, rose 1.4 percent on global price gains.
