WELLINGTON (Reuters) - New Zealand business sentiment improved to a two-year high in December, with the level of pessimism sharply down from the previous month, an ANZ Bank survey showed on Tuesday.

The survey's headline measure showed a net 13.2% of respondents expected the economy to deteriorate over the year ahead. It compared with a 26.4% pessimism level in the previous monthly poll.

A net 17.2% of respondents expected their own businesses to grow in the next 12 months, from 12.9% last month.
