The response to a converted warehouse in Islington has been "phenomenal", according to Harcourts Newcastle agent Joel Soldado.
He is marketing 14 Power Street with a guide of $1.35 million to $1.45 million and said the stunning property has "got people talking".
Once a warehouse for Shoey's supermarket chain and then a local printing business, it was transformed into a three-bedroom, two-bathroom "urban sanctuary" over two levels around 14 years ago and has 432 square metres of living space.
The home has original steel beams and trusses, timber floors and a soaring pitched roof. An industrial-inspired kitchen with ironbark benchtops and a huge butler's pantry is the centrepiece of open plan living that flows to an alfresco entertaining area.
In its first week on the market, Mr Soldado reported over 100 enquiries with "wow" factor providing the appeal.
"In any market, it's been by far the property that I've had the most enquiries on," he said. "One came from a lady who had lived in a warehouse conversion in Brooklyn, New York and she said this one screams of Brooklyn, New York. Warehouses are pretty rare, but to get one of this sheer size is something else again. It's quite a rare offering.
"The location is fantastic, between Wickham Park and Islington Park and not far from all of the bike paths, Throsby Creek, and a short stroll to the harbour or Beaumont Street."

Sought-after position
Another property that has generated good interest since hitting the market this month is a five-bedroom house on a block 1268 square metres in size at 43 George Street in East Maitland.
It is being marketed by Jessica Dixon, of Belle Propery Hunter Valley.
"That's a popular little spot in East Maitland and homes don't often come up there," she said.
"This one has got that character that everyone likes in East Maitland; it's one of those beautiful homes and it has a back deck looking out over farmland".
