Nearly 1,000 memorabilia owned by American and British legendary music stars from the 1960s, including Eric Clapton's guitar, Kurt Cobain's handwritten setlists, and Whitney Houston's Versace jacket, will go under the hammer in New York this week, according to AFP.

Days before the auction scheduled on November 19-20 at a restaurant in Times Square, Julien's Auctions briefed the media on the collection on Monday, revealing that the 1,000 displayed memorabilia belong to stars including Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Led Zeppelin, Elvis Presley, Bob Marley, and George Michael, in addition to bands like The Beatles, U2, Guns N' Roses, and The Rolling Stones.

Among the best pieces displayed by Julien's Auctions is Eric Clapton's 1968 Martin D-45 guitar, which could fetch $300,000 to $500,000, according to Martin Nolan, executive director of the house.

Clapton used the guitar during the 1970 debut live concert performance of Derek and The Dominos.

Also included in the two-day auction is a handwritten setlist from Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide in 1994, aged 27. The list includes two of his most popular songs, "Come As You Are" and "About A Girl."

Last year, Julien's Auctions sold Cobain's guitar he played during the legendary 1993 MTV Unplugged performance for $6 million. It is the most expensive guitar ever sold at auction so far.
