Deandre Baker, the former three-star defensive back and Jim Thorpe Award winner, was the first cornerback taken in this year’s NFL Draft.
The New York Giants selected Baker with the No. 30 overall pick despite many mock drafts having him behind Greedy Williams, Byron Murphy and other cornerbacks.
Instead, Baker went before all of them, as we accurately predicted just hours ago.
The Miami, Florida native did not allow a single touchdown in his last two seasons with the Bulldogs and had 116 total tackles while in Athens.
