New York designer donates face masks to Irish organisation supporting young girls

A renowned New York designer has donated face masks to an Irish organisation supporting young girls to sell and raise money for its projects.

Alice + Olivia are joining forces with The Shona Project, a social enterprise founded to empower young women.

The Shona Project, which was launched in 2016 by Tammy Darcy, is an innovative support system for young girls living in Ireland.

It has already reached over 12,000 girls through its school workshops, and hundreds of thousands through online articles and videos.

The organisation were forced to cancel their workshops and school visits when the coronavirus pandemic hit and fundraising was also badly affected.

Designer Stacey Bendet’s stylish masks will be sold on its website for €8.50 plus €1.50 post and packaging, with The Shona Project receiving all profits.

CEO Tammy Darcy said: “ Alice + Olivia have kindly donated beautifully-designed face masks to The Shona Project which will now be sold in order to raise funds for The Shona Project and our important projects.

“Partnerships like this ensure we can continue our services to support young girls across the country.”

The masks can be purchased online at: https://shona.ie/product/the-shona-project-masks/.
