New York and Venice-inspired cafe to open on Hope Street

One of Merseyside’s much loved restaurant brands is opening a new cafe in Liverpool.

The owners of Silk Rd, which already has restaurants in Liverpool city centre, Heswall and Bramhall, have launched a new concept - Trunk Cafe

Offering a warm and cosy atmosphere, Trunk is serving something for everyone, from brunch and lunch to afternoon tea, an evening menu and even a pre-theatre menu.

From business duo Chris Williams and Javier Mellado, Trunk is open on Hope Street, replacing Silk Rd Hope Street.

Chris said: “Having established our Silk Rd business in the heart of the business district, it's great to be bringing something different to this cultural area.

"It's been a tough year but it’s still an exciting time to be running a small and independent group of restaurants in the North West and our new concept TRUNK is perfect for the Hope St. area.”

Javier added: "We absolutely love what we do and we're proud of what we have achieved so far. Trunk Cafe brings to you flavours from Venice to New York.

“We both have a love of Italian food and Mediterranean tastes but also the amazing street food vibe from the Big Apple, We have genuinely brought this together and are passionate about what we have achieved.”

Trunk opens from 8am and is based at Federation House, 88 Hope Street, L1 9BW.
