New Year's Honours odds revealed as bookies name favourites for Knighthoods and Damehoods

Countless celebrities have been given the titles of Sir and Dame by The Queen over the years and the clock is now ticking down to the reveal of the New Year's Honours List for 2020.

Among the famous faces who received Knighthoods and Damehoods by Her Majesty last year were Michael Palin and Twiggy and now bookies have revealed their odds for the celebs who might be in the running for the top titles this time round.

David Beckham is even money with William Hill to receive a knighthood in the New Year’s honours list, with the England manager Gareth Southgate offered at 6/1. James Bond could well be on his last hurrah and it is 7/1 that Daniel Craig receives a knighthood. Of the outsiders Mary Berry looks a decent bet at 12/1 and Chris Evans is 33/1.

“It is well documented that David Beckham is very keen on the idea of being knighted and he will be hanging round the phone hoping for the call over the next couple of days,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

Odds to Receive A Knighthood/Damehood in 2020:

1/1 David Beckham

6/1 Gareth Southgate

7/1 Daniel Craig

10/1 Lewis Hamilton

12/1 James Anderson

12/1 Mary Berry

12/1 Olivia Colman

20/1 Claire Balding

20/1  Jonny Wilkinson

25/1 Ellie Simmonds

25/1 Harry Kane

28/1 Ben Stokes

33/1 Chris Evans

33/1 Jamie Oliver

33/1 Paula Radcliffe

50/1 Theresa May

100/1 Piers Morgan
