New Year's Eve revellers evacuated from busy bar after huge fire breaks out

New Year's Eve revellers have been evacuated from a busy bar after a huge fire broke out.

Kremlin, a popular nightspot in central Belfast, will no longer open for the traditional celebrations.

It is unclear if anyone has been hurt and, if so, to what extent, Belfast Live reports.

In a statement, the owners stated: "Due to a serious fire at Kremlin this evening, we will no longer be opening tonight. Thankfully everybody was evacuated without injury and we'd like to thank NIFRS for their quick response.

"We'll update you with further details when available and we apologise for the inconvenience on this of all nights."

Owners have advised those with tickets for tonight's celebrations to claim their refunds from tomorrow.

The owners added: "Anybody with a ticket for our NYE celebrations will be able to claim a refund from Union Street Bar from tomorrow *(1st January) and for the next seven days."

The statement has been shared on social media.
