New Year's Eve playlist with the biggest tracks of 2019

To help you say a fond farewell to 2019, we've picked out some of the biggest pop and dance tunes of the last twelve months.

So whether you're getting ready for night on the town to see in 2020 or having a party at home with some friends, these are the tracks you need to have on your playlist.

Beautiful People - Ed Sheeran and Khalid

Teaming up with everyone from Stormzy to Justin Beiber, Ed Sheeran proved once again why he's the biggest name in music with his No. 6 Collaborations Project album. This laid back number, featuring soul singer Khalid, is a perfect way to get your party going.

One Night - Picture This

Whenever they're not selling out gigs or arenas or stadiums in Belfast and beyond, Picture This are normally found in the studio making hit after hit. One Night was a small taster of what music they've been making in 2019.

Old Town Road - Lil Nas X

The most unexpected pop star of the year, Lil Nas X dominated the charts everywhere from America to the UK with his breakthrough hit Old Town Road. Who knew country music and rap worked so well?

Canter - Gerry Cinnamon

The ultimate person to singalong to when the party really gets going, Gerry Cinnamon gave us another rousing acoustic anthem with Canter earlier this year. You all got your tickets for Ormeau Park aye?

Don't Start Now - Dua Lipa

The return of the queen.

Dance Monkey - Tones & I

Love it or hate it, there was no escaping Dance Monkey, the breakthrough hit from Australian artist Tones & I, in 2019. And look, it's ok to admit it, it's an undeniably catchy tune.

Bad Guy - Billie Eilish

The ultimate earworm from the biggest - and weirdest - rising star of 2019.

Thank u, Next - Ariana Grande

Pop music has never sounded so positive, honest and downright catchy than in 2019, with Ariana Grande leading the way.

Good As Hell - Lizzo and Ariana Grande

See above, but with the added bonus of American rapper Lizzo.

Senorita - Camila Cabello & Shawn Mendes

A brilliantly captivating tune from this year's pop music power couple.

Outnumbered - Dermot Kennedy

An irresistibly good voice with the songs to match it.

Someone You Loved - Lewis Capaldi

He doesn't exactly make party-ready hits (although judging by his lifestyle, he sounds like absolutely great craic), but Lewis Capaldi has been everywhere this year so deserves a mention. If the party's starting to wind down, with couples pairing off and heart-to-hearts taking place in the wee hours of the morning, this is the song to put on...
