New Year's Eve Metro and bus services in and out of Newcastle city centre

If you’re one of the unlucky people having to go to work on New Year, or if you’re planning your night out, we’ve produced a guide to travel and timetables on the Tyne & Wear Metro and Go North East and Arriva buses.

There are a whole host of things going on in Newcastle city centre for New Year's Eve, there are loads of VERY late events on and bars and pubs with free entry including an outdoor pub rave if you fancy seeing in 2020 in style without spending a fortune.

However you're planning on spending tonight, have a great one and a safe one and if you want to make sure your not stranded anywhere, here is a guide to transport links in and out of the city.

New Year’s Eve

Metro

Normal weekday service then half hour frequency from 10pm until end of service. Last trains will operate to timetable.

Haymarket station will be exit only from 5pm - 9pm, use Jesmond or Monument station instead.

Bus

Most Go North East buses will run to Saturday timetables, with the majority of last departures between 5pm and 7pm.

New Year’s Day

Metro

No Metro service. On Thursday, January 2, 2019 trains will run to a normal timetable.

Bus

No buses run on New Year's Day - apart from  X50 NUFC Match Day Park & Ride  from Metrocentre Coach Park.

Normal service resumes on January 2, 2019.
