It’s set to be a busy New Year’s for shops and supermarkets across Ireland as people top up on last-minute party snacks, alcohol and novelty 2022 headwear.
This year’s celebrations may be quieter than usual due to rising Covid-19 cases and restrictions on hospitality and household gatherings, but many people are still planning to mark the year gone by and usher in the next one.
Shops and supermarkets across Ireland have altered their opening hours during the festive season so check this list before travelling.
Here’s the times that shops will open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
Tesco
New Year’s opening hours for Tesco stores vary depending on their location.
Many stores will remain open until 8pm or 9pm on New Year’s Eve and will reopen for New Year’s Day from 10am until 8pm.
Operating hours are expected to return to normal on Monday, January 3.
