New Year's Day babies born at Belfast Royal, Ulster and Altnagelvin hospitals deliver huge smiles

What better way to kick off the 2020s than by welcoming new life into the world.

So it is no wonder their parents were all smiles as they showed off some of the first babies born across NI after the clocks struck midnight.

And little Shane Tierney might just hold the record for the first born after Auld Lang Syne resounded around the land.
