Hundreds of brave swimmers will kick off 2020 by running straight into the North Sea for a New Year's Day Dip.
New Year's Day swims in the North Sea are a tradition in Alnmouth and Whitley Bay. On January 1, people will line up on the beach before running into the chilly sea. Entrants can choose to raise money for charity.

Alnmouth
Head to the Boat Houses, Alnmouth Beach Car Park, to join the village's North Sea swim.
It starts at noon on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
Fancy dress is encouraged, with Puffin Stores awarding a prize for the best costume.
If you're raising money for charity, sponsorship forms are available from Puffin Stores, Alnmouth Post Office.
Whitley Bay
Whitley Bay's New Year's Day swim is at 11am.
Head to the near Rendezvouz Cafe , in Whitley Bay, for 10.45am to take part. The swim starts at 11am.
