Self-proclaimed founder of “gay pop” JoJo Siwa has apparently taken the saying “new year, new me” seriously. This time, by seemingly rebranding from her iconic stage name to Joelle Siwa, and fans are confused.
Ahead of 2026, the “Karma” singer quietly changed her TikTok name to Joelle Siwa. Alongside the subtle name change, she also shared a video hinting at big plans for the new year.
“Any plans for 2026?” text in the video read alongside audio to her iconic 2016 single, “Boomerang”.
“Imma come back like a boomerang,” Siwa mouthed.
Although the reality TV star didn’t address the name change in her latest TikTok, fans have flocked to the comments section, questioning who Joelle is.
However, her “OG” or, as they say, “Day Ones” explained to the new batch of fans that Joelle is her real name.
“Her real name is Joelle. JoJo was just a nickname. Are y’all new here?” one fan wrote.
“Real ones know Joelle Joanie Siwa is her full name,” another penned.
“People dying over a new name, not realising it’s actually her name,” a third wrote.
So far, Siwa hasn’t revealed any plans regarding the next steps in her career, or her controversial relationship with fellow Celebrity Big Brother UK housemate, Chris Hughes.
To give you a quick recap, Siwa made headlines after her relationship with Aussie activist and DJ Kath Ebbs ended, following Siwa’s appearance on Celebrity Big Brother UK, where she met Hughes.
Throughout Siwa’s time in the house, it was apparent that she grew close to Hughes despite entering Big Brother while in a relationship with Ebbs.
After Siwa was evicted, the Aussie star confirmed they’d broken up. Siwa and Hughes denied their relationship, but quickly confirmed it weeks later and have since packed on the PDA.
The heated split made Siwa public enemy number one for Aussie fans. Thankfully, Ebbs has since found their happily ever after with AFLW superstar Tilly Lucas-Rodd.
But hey, who knows, maybe Joelle will make amends with Ebbs. After all, it’s only just the start of 2026.
