New World is an upcoming massively multiplayer online (MMO) game that is due to launch at the end of the month.
It's been developed by Amazon's own game developer Amazon Games.
Based in the mythical Auternum Island, the game is set during the seventeenth century where players must colonise a fictional world based on the Americas.

Unlike other popular MMOs, New Word will be a buy-to-play title, rather than one requiring a monthly subscription or freemium payment model - this carries some advantages and disadvantages.
The game is set to launch on September 28 worldwide - originally it was going to release last year but was delayed due to slowed production from the coronavirus pandemic.
Levels, Covenants and Crafting
Players can form up a personal party of up to five members while being able to choose from one of three covenants (Marauders, Syndicate, and Covenant) which will each have their own bonuses.
The game also comes with an in-depth craft system where players can create their own items, weapons, and armour to help them on their journey.
It also involves a typical RPG level-up system where players can focus on their characters own personal attributes and their preferred skills in different weapons and trades.
Trade skills are divided into three categories of crafting, refining, and gathering - there's also a camping skill for wilderness survival.
Combat
New World features combat that requires practice to perfect - there is no auto-locking so players have to keep a steady hand when committing to an attack.
Enemies are supposedly designed with evolving combat mechanics and behaviour which changes as the player levels up and progresses throughout the game.
Players must learn to balance their mana, stamina, and health with timed attacks and dodging mechanics to defeat enemies - you can also use the surrounding environment to your advantage for crowd control tactics.
