New woes for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as This Morning Live is axed

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have suffered another catastrophe as their beloved This Morning Live show has been cancelled.

Bubbly morning host Holly, 38, and allegedly testy co-star Phillip, 57, are said to be devastated after the annual live convention has been shelved by ITV bosses.

The daytime TV hosts were a star attraction at This Morning Live when it trundled into Birmingham over the summer in years past to give fans of the show an up close and personal look at how the stars work together.

But after a drop in profits from the yearly event, it looks like the chance for viewers and fans to see Holly and Phil in action has been snatched away for good.

“Both Phil and Holly really enjoyed taking part in TM Live and were sorry to hear that it wouldn’t be happening this year,” a source told The Sun on Sunday.

While the source gives a vague hope that the show might be revived by ruling out an instalment “this year”, organisers give a rather more bleak outlook in a statement of their own.

“After thee successful years at the Birmingham NEC with This Morning Live we are looking at new opportunities,” she organisers Media 10 said.

This Morning Live involved other ITV stars including Rylan Clark and Alison Hammond - and saw features and interviews take place on stage in Brum.

The past few months have seen This Morning embroiled in bad press the likes of which have not been seen since Phillip Schofield and former co-star Fern Britton spectacularly fell out after she quit in 2009.

Last year, rumours of a rift between Holly and Phil began to circulate after the silver haired host allegedly grew jealous that bubbly blonde Holly enjoyed success from under his shadow.

The TV babe enjoyed huge success as a co-star on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! when she filled in for disgraced presenter Ant McPartlin - and she helped Declan Donnely bring the show to it’s all time highest viewing figures.

Phil is said to have been left seeing green after Holly won a gong for her I’m A Celeb duties - while other ITV stars including Ruth Langsford and Jason Gardiner are said to have an axe to grind against the star too.

While This Morning Live has been shown the bin, the week day TV show This Morning will continue as normal.
