A renovated West Lothian petrol station will include a new shop, car wash and ATM bank machine.
West Lothian Council granted permission to the Motor Fuel Group for the redevelopment of the site on August 13.
The Glendevon Service Station on the B9080 road between Broxburn and Winchburgh was approved for the erection of a 248sqm sales building and 3 jet wash bays with associated works.
The housing developer behind the Winchburgh Masterplan, Winchburgh Developments Limited (WDL), raised some concern on the planning application.
A spokepserson said: “The proposed development must take account of the amenity requirements of existing and proposed residential development in the vicinity of the proposed development site.
“This includes the requirements for minimum distances to garden ground, privacy, amenity and overlooking concerns as well as a restriction on the height of the buildings and structures proposed.
“WDL would seek to ensure that, from a traffic flow and safety perspective, that the Council is content with the proposed layout in relation to the location of the schools campus, currently under construction, to the north of the proposed development site.
“Given the proximity to existing and proposed residential development, it would also be helpful if the Council would consider imposing hours of operation restrictions upon the development.
“With specific reference to car washing facilities a limit of 8am-10pm is suggested for consideration.
“I trust that the above is self-explanatory, and I would be happy to discuss this further with you if required.”
