A West Lothian Co-op store has delayed its reopening after a refurbishment.
The store is currently undergoing a £750,000 renovation and will feature a new in-house bakery, self-scan checkouts, an improved range of fresh food and Amazon lockers.
However bosses at the store have announced that they will be opening the new store at the Bankton Centre one day later than originally planned.
The Co-op at Murieston in Livingston is being redeveloped as a new beauty salon gets ready to open nearby.
A new unit was built and locals recently learned that a beauty salon would be renting the premises when signage was erected.
The new Co-op will be ready to open to the public in less than two weeks after being shut for a month for the works.
A Co-op spokesperson said: “Works continue to progress well and as you can see from the picture. The store layout will be rotated 180 degrees so it will look very different when we welcome everyone back with less than two weeks to go now.
“Due to a couple of unexpected difficulties, we will relaunch one day later than planned so your new store will now open at 6am, Friday 24th September.
“Please note that the launch date will be incorrect on the leaflet (including money off vouchers) which you will receive w/c 20th September as we missed the print deadline to change it unfortunately. Also keep an eye out for our events team who will be handing goody bags out on the day itself.
“As they say, all good things come to those who wait. Roll on the 24th; the team and myself look forward to seeing then.”
