New Welsh hand sanitiser brand has been launched

A businessman has launched a new local hand sanitiser brand for businesses and households in Wales.

UniChemWales, run by Dave Williams from a base in Llandudno, has unveiled Amddiffyn.

He wanted to create a local brand with a Welsh identity with the likelihood a push on hand sanitising will continue for months to come in the battle against Covid-19.

He said: “As Wales and the rest of the UK starts to look to the future it’s only right that more and more brands are designed and produced to provide a more local, community aspect to them.

“Hand sanitiser use is very much here to stay and with a little help from our very own Ceri the Dragon, we want to support local businesses to connect with their customers and give both them, and the people of Wales, a high quality product with a true identity with our range of Amddiffyn hand sanitiser.”

In a bid to cut down on plastic waste they are selling large containers that firms or households can keep in their premises or homes and then use to refill smaller bottles, which can be reused.

Dave said: “This is saving money and most importantly saving plastic bottles being thrown away for recycling.”

He will add to the product list in the future.
