New weekly Covid cases falls in Lanarkshire for first time in months

New weekly coronavirus cases in Lanarkshire fell for the first time since July last week.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed a further 268 cases in the region for yesterday at her daily briefing on Monday, November 2.

That brings the total number of new Covid cases in the region for last week (week beginning October 26) to 2001 - 718 less than the previous week.

Each of the previous 12 weeks had seen a consistent rise in new Covid-19 cases across the Lanarkshire, peaking at 2719 two weeks ago (week beginning October 19).

However, last week was the third consecutive week that more than 2000 cases were recorded in the region.

In total, 13,396 people in Lanarkshire have tested positive for coronavirus.
