New walk-in Scottish Government Covid-19 testing centre in West Lothian opens

A Scottish Government testing centre is open for people with Covid-19 symptoms.

The walk-through testing is now available for people with coronavirus symptoms at a testing centre at Livingston Football Club’s car park.

The facility will be open 7 days a week – with appointments available 8am to 8pm.

Test and Protect is Scotland’s way of putting into practice the test, trace, isolate, support strategy.

It will prevent the spread of coronavirus in the community by: identifying cases of coronavirus through testing, tracing the people who may have become infected by spending time in close contact with them, supporting those close contacts to self-isolate, so that if they have the disease they are less likely transmit it to others and breaking the chains of transmission in the community will stop the virus spreading. This will allow us to gradually change the restrictions that help to suppress the virus.

If you are told to isolate by Test and Protect you may be eligible for a £500 Self-Isolation Support Grant.

Tests must be booked in advance via nhsinform.scot/test-and-prote… or by calling 0800 028 2816
