New vintage cafe and tearoom opens in Shawlands - and we can't wait to try it

Folk in Glasgow who like to treat themselves to a little warm beverage and cake induced indulgence have a new place to go check out - a new vintage cafe and tearoom.

The Sweet Tart has swung open its doors on Pollokshaws Road in the south side of the city (next to The Granary), offering Afternoon Teas alongside the usual cafe fayre.

With visitors able to chose from a traditional afternoon tea package alongside a 'pastries galore' afternoon tea package - all of which are served on vintage crockery.

And they use Mossgiel Organic milk with zero waste from packaging alongside fully compostable takeaway cups to do their bit for the environment.

The cafe is keen to have a real community feel, and have their own community group in the form of the Crochet, Knitting and Nattering group which meets there on a Thursday.

While for the love birds among us, the cafe and tearoom are hosting a run of special Valentine's Afternoon Teas on February 14, 15 and 16.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday (9am till 7pm) and Saturday and Sunday (10am to 7pm).

Glasgow Live has a community group dedicated to all things Food and Drink- the place to share reviews, foodie tips and new bars and restaurants. Join the conversation now!
