New video shows Wales v New Zealand pitch invader gatecrash field completely unchallenged

It’s probably fair to say that Wales wouldn’t have minded if the pitch invader in an all-black kit who lined up alongside New Zealand for their anthem had been part of the visitors’ side when the match started.

Ross Moriarty would have truly tested the suitability of ‘Jarvo 69’ for such apparel.

As it was, the intruder was led from the pitch so the pre-match formalities could be completed.

Now a full video has appeared online highlighting the ease with which the man with 'Jarvo 69' on his shirt managed to evade the attention of stewards as he emerged from the crowd, climbed over the advertising boards and ran across to join the All Blacks as they readied themselves for their anthem.

The assumption is questions will be asked about pitchside and on-field security at the Principality Stadium.

The footage has appeared on the Twitter page of YouTuber Daniel Jarvis, aka 'Jarvo 69'.

It shows him taking off a Parka coat and confidently walking down steps in a lower-tier stand, seemingly unnoticed and with no other fans remotely aware of what he was going to do next.

He then clambers over the pitchside boards before jogging across to where the All Blacks are standing.

He does all this unchallenged.

Eventually, though, he is taken from the field.

His YouTube channel has just over 160,000 subscribers.

New Zealand won the match in Cardiff 54-16.

Principality Stadium manager Mark Williams said: "It was an unfortunate incident. The pitch invader was removed from the field of play and ejected from the stadium. The issue was covered in the post-match debrief and the findings will be included in future security briefings."
