New vegan takeaway Trusty Buck's opens in Glasgow's east end

A new vegan takeaway has opened in the east end of Glasgow after nine months of food truck deliveries from the south side of the city.

Former busker and pub musician Hugh Kearns had been planning for an events season in 2020 with his new food business Trusty Buck's.

However, at the start of the first lockdown in Scotland, he used his festival catering setup to create a 'dark kitchen' on the driveway of his parents' home in Pollokshields, hiring out of work Glasgow musician pals as couriers.

Thousands of deliveries later, Hugh and the team have grown the business, opening a new takeaway in Dalmarnock while creating 15 jobs.

Trusty Buck’s was a natural distillation of Hugh's experience working for Brewdog and his parallel music career playing country music as alter ego 'Trusty Buck Arlington.'

The takeaway's Instagram account showcases some of the mouthwatering meat-free meals being served up, including burgers and loaded fries.
