New plant-based cafe to take over former Gather by Zique space in Partick

Root Candy has been a firm veggie favourite at Glasgow events for a while now, for popping up everywhere from Mansfield Park to Partick Farmers Market.

So news that the team may have found permanent digs is very exciting indeed …

Vegan foodies Root Candy will be taking over the space formerly occupied by Gather by Zique and setting up residence in the west end for good.

A picture of the unfinished shop front - with the words 'It's time' - suggests the new opening is coming very soon to Partick. In fact word has it, they'll be swinging open their doors in less than two weeks.

On Facebook Root Candy shared: “It’s time for Glasgow to finally get a taste of our all natural, all fresh vegetarian and vegan cuisine. Opening soon on Hyndland Street in the West End - the wait is almost over!"

Excited food fans are already buzzing about the opening, and we can’t wait to find out more over the coming days.

The space has long been a foodie favourite, having previously been home to Gather by Zique and Deli Zique, and we were delighted to hear that a new venture was breathing new life into the brilliant location.

Judging by their social media, Root Candy promise to bring 'fun and fabulous' veggie and vegan food to the west end and prove 'how fun and delicious vegetables can be'.

Their menu looks set to include everything from Kentucky Fried Celeriac burgers (complete with truffle mayo) to every vegan baked good imaginable.

And if the picture of their food are anything to go by then it could be a very exciting addition to the Partick food scene …
