New Vampire pizzeria launching in Camden with absinthe on the menu

Jet-black pizza and eerie green absinthe seem appropriate for Halloween, so it's timely that one London restaurant has announced today it will open a new branch serving just that.

Lost Boys Pizza, famous for its vampire theme and vampire yoga, will open a new site in December 2018 on Eversholt Street in Camden.

Upstairs, the new venue will feature its signature black charcoal pizza, creative cocktails and an 80s soundtrack, while the lower level, called Croque Monsieur, will house an absinthe bar — where wearing a hat is an entry requirement. Fear not, a dressing up box will be provided.

The cocktail menu at Croque Monsieur will include creepy drinks such including classic cocktail Death in the Afternoon, which fuses absinthe and Champagne. Ernest Hemingway originally invented the drink for a column of celebrity recipes with the instructions: "Pour one jigger absinthe into a Champagne glass. Add iced Champagne until it attains the proper opalescent milkiness. Drink three to five of these slowly."

All pizzas will be served with the Lost Boys' signature black charcoal dough. Other highlights on the menu will include the vegan Kale All Vampires pizza with kale, cherry tomatoes and caramelised shallots, and the Frog Brothers Special with apple-smoked ham, artichokes and pickled mushrooms.

The brainchild of Alex Fisher and Peter Crozier-Clucas, the new site will have a 45-cover garden with a retractable roof and heat lamps for winter.
