Drop-in clinics are being run throughout July at nine venues across Lanarkshire to maximise the number of residents receiving the Covid vaccine.
The sessions are open to all county residents who are aged 18 or over and have not yet had a first dose; or who have waited eight weeks or longer for their second.
Appointments can also be rescheduled to the drop-in sessions if necessary; and NHS Lanarkshire say that more “future dates will be added in due course”.
Vaccinations are available every day at Lanarkshire’s two supercentres at Ravenscraig sports facility in Motherwell and the Alistair McCoist complex in East Kilbride.
Sessions at those two venues currently run from 12 noon to 7.30pm each day, and will then be extended from Monday, July 19, to take place from 8.30am to 7.30pm.
All other vaccination venues will be open from 9am to 5pm, operating on various dates at seven locations –
* The Time Capsule, Coatbridge: every day from Monday, July 19 to Sunday, July 25.
* Muirfield community centre, Cumbernauld: Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, July 19-21 and 26-28.
* Stonehouse Lifestyles: Wednesday to Friday, July 21-23, and Monday and Tuesday, July 26-27.
* St Nicholas church hall, Lanark: Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, July 22-24 and July 29-31.
* Whitehill neighbourhood centre, Hamilton: Thursday and Friday, July 22-23, and Tuesday and Wednesday, July 27-28.
* Fernhill community centre, Rutherglen: Friday to Monday, July 23-26.
* Sir Matt Busby complex, Bellshill: Saturday to Tuesday, July 24-27.
Dr Mark Russell, who is leading the Covid-19 vaccination programme in Lanarkshire, said: “These drop-in clinics will help us to vaccinate our communities as quickly as possible and allow us to get back to the things we’ve missed.
“We have also added rebooking appointments on the same days as the drop-in clinics to make them more convenient – this means that people can reschedule their booked appointment if it suits them better, and can also cancel their booked appointment and attend a drop-in clinic.”
He added: “We are doing all we can to make sure attending for a vaccination is as easy as possible.
"There is light at the end of the tunnel and we need to make sure that our vaccination uptake is as high as possible to allow us to continue on our road back to normality.”
Information for all drop-in clinics is published on the NHS Lanarkshire website and on the health board’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels.
