A temporary drop in clinic will open for vaccinations this weekend in West Lothian.
NHS Lothian has announced that Howden Health Centre on Howden Road in Livingston will be open for drop-in vaccinations on Saturday July 3 and Sunday July 4, from 9am - 12pm.
The drop in centre is only for people aged 40 and over, who require a first or second dose of the Astra Zeneca vaccine.
The following buses stop near the clinic: 7, 16, 26 West Lothian, 26A West Lothian, 27 West Lothian, 31, 40, 275, 280, 281, N28, X27, X28, X40.
An NHS Lothian spokesperson said: “From this weekend, Astra Zeneca drop-in clinics for the over 40s are being extended across Lothian to make sure that everyone has easier access to the lifesaving vaccine.
“If you’re over 40 and haven’t already had your vaccine – for whatever reason – you can turn up at any of the centres involved to get your first or second dose of the vaccine (as long as your last injection was at least eight weeks before).
“These new smaller clinics, organised by the Health and Social Care Partnerships, are being launched in the hearts of communities across Lothian to make it easier for patients to get their vaccine.”
The health board are also now opening drop in vaccine centres for younger age groups, as Covid-19 infections rocket throughout West Lothian.
From June 29, a drop-in vaccination clinic for 18-39 year olds will open at the Younger Building, Royal Bank of Scotland, Edinburgh Park at South Gyle, 3 Redheughs Avenue, Edinburgh.
The clinic is open every day from 8.30am to 5.30pm until further notice.
Patients will be able to receive their first dose or second dose if it’s been more than 8 weeks since the first jag was administered.
NHS Lothian advise that locals do not need to be registered with a GP to visit a drop-in clinic.
