Passengers can now book trips with Uber up to 30 days in advance using the new premium Uber Reserve service.
Uber Reserve, launching today in London, Manchester, Bristol and Bath, allows travellers and those making essential journeys to book ahead by assigning drivers to trips up to seven days in advance.
Drivers using Uber Reserve will arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time, and will wait up to 15 minutes after the pick-up time, free of charge.
Reserve trips can be booked with a minimum two hours’ advance notice, and can be cancelled free of charge as long as the trip is 60 minutes or more away.
The trips will come with a reservation fee of £5 and a minimum fare of £25 in London, £20 in Bristol and Bath and £17 in Manchester, and the price is shown upfront before booking.
Drivers who currently drive for the Uber Exec or Uber LUX services will be able to select Reserve trips via the app. Passengers can add a driver to their favourites list, and their preferred drivers will be offered future trips in the first instance.
Jamie Heywood, Uber’s Regional General Manager for Northern and Eastern Europe said: “As the UK emerges from lockdown, we’re launching more features and products to help make everyday life easier. We have listened to riders who have told us they want the peace of mind of being able to book trips in advance and know that their driver will arrive early and wait for them, which is why we are launching Uber Reserve.”
Passengers looking to schedule a trip without reservation fees in a regular vehicle will still be able to do so via UberX.
