New TV series based on award-winning Graham Norton novel to film in West Cork - and is looking for extras!

If you're in the Rebel County, you've got a chance to make it onto TV fairly soon.

Duneen TV Productions have put out a general call for extras for another show being filmed in West Cork.

Though it hasn't been disclosed what the show is, a TV adaptation of Corkman Graham Norton's first novel Holding is set in the fictional village of Duneen in West Cork - and is being filmed there.

Holding was Norton's first foray into writing fiction and he has since backed it up with A Keeper and Home Stretch.

Such was the success of Holding, a show was commissioned - and now you can be a part of it.

Duneen TV are looking for pretty much anyone over the age of 18 from any background to come along for some paid work.

Those interested must be available from July until September, and can email holdingextras@gmail.com.

If you are applying, make sure you include the following details:

  • Name
  • Age
  • Measurements (height, waist size, chest size, shoe size),
  • Eircode,
  • A full-length photo (good quality) and general availability between July and September.

In the best-selling novel, the remote Irish village of Duneen has known little drama; and yet its inhabitants are troubled.

Sergeant PJ Collins hasn't always been this overweight; mother of- two Brid Riordan hasn't always been an alcoholic; and elegant Evelyn Ross hasn't always felt that her life was a total waste.

So when human remains are discovered on an old farm, suspected to be that of Tommy Burke - a former love of both Brid and Evelyn - the village's dark past begins to unravel.

As the frustrated PJ struggles to solve a genuine case for the first time in his life, he unearths a community's worth of anger and resentments, secrets and regret.
