New trailer for The Mighty Ducks TV show captures what made the films so beloved

Given the tumultuous year that we've all endured, a feelgood underdog story could be just what the doctor ordered and as we all know, ducks fly together.

Oh yes, it's time to reassemble the Flying-V because the latest trailer for Disney's upcoming reboot of the beloved franchise, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, has been released.

Since it has been almost three decades since the original, it's only natural that the players are very different but what's important is that the new show seems like it has captured the spirit of what made the three films so beloved.

A ragtag bunch of outcasts that are told they're not good enough? Check.

Kids that just want to play hockey for the love of the game and nothing else? Check.

A firey parent that will do anything to see their kids succeed? Check.

A motley crew of players who get beaten down only to rise up again? Check.

Of course, all of this will mean nothing without The Minnesota Miracle man-himself, and in the most recent footage, Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez) is prominent throughout.

In terms of the plot, the show is set in present-day Minnesota, where the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), set out to build their own team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of youth sports today. With the help of Gordon Bombay, they rediscover the joys of playing just for love of the game.

The ten-episode series will premiere on Disney + on March 26.

Elsewhere, Disney announced that Star Wars: The Bad Batch is coming to Disney+ on May 4, while Loki is set to premiere on June 11.
