Some would call it the most annoying musical in the history of musical theater. Others would call it simply enchanting.

Whatever side you’re on, “Cats” has endured for nearly 40 years since it bowed in London’s West End. This holiday season, the film based on the Tony Award-winning play comes to the big screen with an A-List cast including Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, James Corden, Jason Derulo, Dame Judi Dench and Idris Elba, among others.

On Thursday, Universal Pictures released the first official teaser trailer for the film, directed by Tom Hooper:
