New traditional Greek pie cafe opens in Glasgow City Centre

Glasgow City Centre has welcomed a new traditional Greek pie cafe.

The wonderfully named 'Pie Pie' threw open its doors to Glaswegians on Monday, and Glasgow Live popped by for first a look earlier today.

Found at 52 Broomielaw, the 'Artisan coffee & IT lab' is just a short walk away from Glasgow Central Station, at the former site of LA Cafe.

And we believe the venue, which offers delicious sweet and savoury pies with soft yet crispy pastry, is somewhat of a first for Glasgow, certainly in the city centre.

As well as the magnificent pastries, Pie Pie, run by Greek owners, offers authentic Greek 'Fredos' - chilled, sweet coffees which can come with cinnamon and sometimes honey.

Meanwhile their "famous" Zagori pie - complete with egg, feta and olive oil is a must try, while those with a sweet tooth should grab a slice of the creamy, custardy milk pie, which Glasgow Live can very much vouch for.

The welcoming team at Pie Pie say their grub is "100% Greek grandmas recipe, 100% pure Scottish products" and you can find out more about them on their website HERE.
