New Tottenham stadium: Mauricio Pochettino 'wishes and hopes' for January or February move-in date

Tottenham hope to move into their new stadium in "January or February", says Mauricio Pochettino.

The grand opening to Tottenham's new home has been delayed three times from its original August 2018 date, most recently until the New Year.

A contingency plan is in place for Spurs to play the remainder of their 'home' games at Wembley but Pochettino has proposed a fresh move-in date while appealing for patience from fans.

"[Wednesday] afternoon we were there, checking the facilities, the changing rooms and everything," he told reporters. "We are so excited, we cannot wait to move there.

"We understand that it is a fantastic project for the future of the club that will be forever. To wait maybe one or two months more, we need to have patience.

"We are so disappointed because we expected to play in 2018 but that is not going to be possible. We need to wish and hope that in January or February we can move there.

"It will be a fantastic moment for everyone, the supporters, the players. It'll be a massive boost."
