New Tiger Woods Bodycam Footage Reveals DUI Crash and Interaction With Cops

Newly released body camera footage has provided a detailed look at golf icon Tiger Woods' interaction with police following his DUI arrest after a rollover crash in Florida, revealing a calm yet concerning exchange that has drawn widespread attention.

Tiger Woods' Bodycam Footage Shows Confused Golf Superstar After Shocking Car Crash

The incident occurred on March 27 on Jupiter Island, where Woods' vehicle overturned after he attempted to pass another car at high speed. When deputies arrived at the scene, bodycam footage shows Woods kneeling near the roadside, appearing disoriented but cooperative as officers began assessing the situation.

In the initial interaction, Woods spoke calmly with deputies and offered a brief explanation for the crash, telling officers he had been distracted. At one point, he said he 'looked down' before the collision, suggesting his attention had shifted away from the road moments before the accident.

Despite the severity of the crash, officers noted that Woods did not appear panicked. Instead, the footage shows him responding casually to questions about his condition, even as first responders insisted on a medical evaluation. His demeanor, however, raised concerns among deputies, who observed signs of possible impairment, including sluggish responses and physical instability.

Was Tiger Woods Sober?

As part of standard procedure, Woods was asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests. The footage captures moments of confusion during the assessment, with deputies ultimately determining that his faculties appeared impaired. One officer informed him directly that he was being placed under arrest for driving under the influence.

Woods' reaction to the arrest was notably subdued. According to reports, he appeared surprised and questioned the situation, but did not resist. Officers proceeded to handcuff him at the scene, maintaining a controlled and professional interaction throughout.

During a subsequent search, deputies asked Woods if he had any weapons or hazardous items on him. He responded cooperatively, and officers recovered several personal belongings, including prescription medication later identified as hydrocodone.

The footage also shows Woods maintaining a largely compliant attitude as he was escorted to a patrol vehicle. At no point did the interaction escalate, and officers continued to communicate clearly with him about each step of the process. Still, his physical condition—marked by visible fatigue and disorientation—remained a key factor in the officers' decision-making.

Authorities later confirmed that Woods was charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to further testing. He has since pleaded not guilty and announced plans to seek treatment, acknowledging the seriousness of the situation.

'I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,' the golf star said. 'I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.'

The release of the bodycam footage has placed renewed focus on the moments immediately following the crash, highlighting how law enforcement handled the encounter and how Woods responded under pressure. The interaction, marked by cooperation but clear concern from officers, is now central to the ongoing legal and public scrutiny surrounding the case.

Woods is expected to appear in court by Friday, 17 April 2026
