Right before Monday night’s 2019 NBA Awards show on TNT, Oklahoma City Thunder fans may have gotten a sneak peek at their team’s 2019-20 alternate jersey.
Academy Sports + Outdoors’ website featured a Russell Westbrook alternate swingman jersey with a similar design to their 2018-19 navy jerseys, though in orange. The images for the new jersey were up for some time on Monday, but have since been taken down.
Though, not before a few people captured a screenshot, with Reddit user big__dawg being the first to post the new, bright alternate Thunder jerseys, followed by OKC CBS Sports 105.3 FM’s Twitter account during the 2019 NBA Awards show.
This was perhaps the best news to come out of Monday night for Thunder fans with Paul George losing out on both MVP and Defensive Player of the Year, with Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo and Utah’s Rudy Gobert taking home the awards, respectively. George finished third in the voting for both awards.
Additionally, Steven Adams finished fourth in the voting for two sportsmanship-related awards.
