New tenant needed for Long Eaton pub which had £270k makeover two years ago

A traditional Long Eaton pub at the "beating heart of the community" needs a new tenant.

It's less than two years ago that the pub was transformed from the Harrington to the Mill & Brook after a £270,000 makeover.

The Derby Road boozer's cask ale, craft beer and gin has proved popular with locals since it re-opened after the revamp in December 2017.

At that time it had been taken over by uncle and nephew duo Vinnie and Anthony Dowling, who run The Crafty Teller in Sherwood.

Star Pubs & Bars, which has put the pub up for lease with an annual rent of £22,000, is looking for a "passionate cask ale enthusiast" to grow the business.

Described as a comfortable environment for a quiet drink but equally somewhere to spend an evening, the pub attracts a wide range of customers of all ages including couples, cask drinkers and gin lovers.

Although the main focus is on drinks there is an opportunity to grow the food side by introducing sharing platters and small plates.

A spokesperson for Star Pubs & Bars said: “We are looking to recruit a new operator to take over the running of this warm and welcoming community local which is popular for its cask ales. There is also potential to grow the pub’s food offer to attract passing and daytime trade and evening visitors."
